HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This unit is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) based on Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines to suit learner needs. This unit is compulsory for all workers who may be required to provide CPR in community and workplace settings. This course includes defibrillation (AED) training. If you are looking for AED training, this course will provide the skills and knowledge to operate an AED.

The course is delivered by a qualified industry-skilled trainer at our Western Sydney Skills Hub, 410 Church St, Level 3, Suite 34, North Parramatta

Prerequisites

Whilst there are no prerequisites for this course, it is expected that you have adequate language, literacy, and numeracy skills, and computer skills to interact with peers and trainers, and complete the theory assessment online via MOODLE. You will also need to be physically fit enough to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on the floor.

Delivery Strategies

The practical component of this course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom environment with a qualified and skilled trainer. The theory must be completed online via MOODLE prior to the practical class. Learning strategies include role play, demonstrations, lectures, and classroom activities. The duration of this unit is approximately 2 hours.

Assessment Strategies

The assessments involve a variety of activities, including knowledge questions, demonstration of performance, and observations. All participants will be supported by our qualified and skilled team throughout their learning journey.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled class as late arrivals will not be admitted.

Cost

Fee for service: $49.00

Competency Outcome

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment quoting the relevant unit of competency listed above.
