This unit CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk
This unit meets the Education and Care Services National Regulations requirements. This unit is a compulsory job requirement for many service owners, management committees, and/or Nominated Supervisors who ask their staff to complete the above-mentioned course to ensure they are fully aware of the laws and their obligations to meet the regulatory requirements to remain compliant.
This unit will be delivered by a qualified, industry-skilled trainer at Western Sydney Skills Hub, North Parramatta. Address – 410 Church St, Level 3, Suite 34, North Parramatta, NSW 2151, if you are enrolling for face-to-face classes. Please note that classes may not be available when you are reading this course description, but the college encourages potential candidates to register their interest by joining the waiting list (available at the bottom of this page).
Practical work
Students are required to be working or volunteering in a workplace that is accessed by children or young people to successfully complete the practical part of the assessments.

Delivery Strategies
This course will be delivered in a classroom environment over 3 days as well as self-paced with the assistance of a qualified and skilled trainer. Learning strategies include role play, case study, demonstrations, lectures, and classroom activities. All participants will be supported by our qualified and skilled team throughout their learning journey.

Assessment Strategies
Assessments for this unit include both formative and summative methods, which involve a variety of activities such as knowledge questions, case studies, presentations, projects, demonstrations, and observations. All participants will be supported by our qualified and skilled team throughout their learning journey.
Resource Requirements
Learner manuals will be provided at no additional cost beyond the course fee. This course requires access to a computer and the internet, either in the classroom or at home, to research relevant legislation, industry standards, and to develop workplace documents.

How much work is involved in completing the course?
Note that assessments for this unit involve work during and after the sessions. You will have a maximum of two attempts to submit assessments for each unit of competency. If you are considered Not Yet Competent after the second submission, you may undertake a gap tutorial, which will incur an additional fee.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you believe you already have skills and experience relevant to the competencies of this course, please let the trainer know for a recognition. Please note that applying for RPL may not automatically result in the issuing of the skill set. If any gaps are found, you will be advised and asked to provide further evidence against your RPL claim. If you are still considered Not Yet Competent (NYC), a tutorial may be offered for those gaps, which will incur an additional cost.
Competency outcome
On successful completion of assessments, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment from CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support.
