Lesson 1: Introduction to acrylic paints, mediums & colour theory
Students will learn:
Characteristics of acrylic paints and mediums, Brush handling, Colour mixing,
Students will paint an abstract design on canvas (based on colour theory)

Lesson 2 & 3: Introduction to composition and design
Students will learn:
Rule of thirds, Balance, Contrast, Light & Shadow
Students will paint a still life on canvas

Lesson 4 & 5: Advanced Techniques
Students will learn:
Perspective, Composition , Palette knife, Layering, Glazing,
Students will paint a landscape, seascape, or cityscape on canvas

Materials: Please note, the list of materials required MUST HAVE the following:
-Primed stretch canvas x3off – 12" x 16" (305mm x 406mm)
-Acrylic paint set: Primary Colours (warm red, cool red/ warm yellow, cool yellow/ warm blue, cool blue/ + black and white)
-Acrylic brush set: Round size 2 / Round size 6 / Filbert size 10 Flat size 14

This is the basic list. However you can extend this list by using larger canvases, or bring a full set of colours, or a full set of brushes. Make sure your canvases are gesso PRIMED already (painted white and ready for painting). If unsure, ask your supplier.
