Your tutor Sophia Spallek has a German background and therefore is bilingual. Apart from her family background Sophia has also formally studied German and received the High Academic Achievement Award from NSW School of Languages and the German Language Studies Award from the German Consulate in Sydney (Peter Silberberg).

Highly intelligent, Sophia is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology, and has achieved distinctions and high distinctions in all of her subjects. Sophia also tutors students in a variety of subjects, including German. Position held: 3D Artist, 3D Animator,
Film Compositor, Motion Graphics Designer
As a 3D artist and 3D animator I worked on a number of
commercials and a TV series for Channel 9 “In Their
Footsteps” as well as feature films “A Few Best Friends” and the
stereoscopic “Bait”. My duties involved modeling, texturing,
lighting and rendering as required by particular shots.
As a Film Compositor I worked on digital opticals which include
fades, dissolves, freeze frames and speed shifts and
reversals, image flops, reframing, and subtitles. Most of the
projects benefit from my ability to work on different
parts of the job in a number of software packages and then
bring them all together in the final composite.

As a freelancer I am required to be able to interpret a brief,
follow a script and edit the supplied footage, design and
execute appropriate motion graphics, design and execute 3D
graphics where required and composite them with footage.
Create exports (MPEGs / WMV) as required for the client
approval procedure, execute changes where required,
export content in delivery format for broadcast and upload to
either Adstream or Dubsat. Archive project files and create 8 bit
uncompressed Masters and Submasters for later use.
This period also required excellent marketing and time
management abilities as well as providing hardware and
software technical support and troubleshooting on Macintosh
platform.
During this time I also designed and maintained production
pipelines for the design and editing process from the initial
brief to the finalised content delivery for broadcast for Media
Collective – a production house in Double Bay.

shoots that involved later integration of CG elements
in post production

In this period I also undertook 4 years self study of Graphic

ability to find contracts and employment in the industry.

Position Title: Reporter, Editor of the Domestic

the evening “current events” news programme, co-operation
with the editorial office responsible for broadcasting to

broadcast team, preparation of the main news programme of
the Czechoslovak television, computer communication with
the database of the press agency, liaison with individual
finishing workplaces of the telecast service and regional
editorial offices, co-ordination of the information switch
between the external (foreign) and internal (domestic) news
column as well as contact with the archives and photo
documentation department.
