Alex Jeffares has a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) with majors in Arabic and Politics and a Diploma of Languages in French from the University of Melbourne. He also has a Certificate (High Distinction) from the Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic to Non-native Speakers in Muscat, Oman. Alex has designed curricula for and tutored Arabic with The Parramatta College since February 2017. He has also tutored the University of Melbourne’s Second Language Acquisition Program in French, and has been the Project Director of Opening the Door to the Arab World, an annual event hosted by the Asia Institute at the University of Melbourne since 2015. He has received the Melbourne Global Languages Scholarship (Arabic) from the University of Melbourne as well as the Nicolas Baudin Scholarship (French) from the Embassy of France. Alex also has a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney Law School and in his day job works as a corporate lawyer at Allens.
