First Aid Plus
Be prepared for the unexpected emergency situation in your home, office or within the community
First Aid Plus is a 4 unit comprehensive course that provides information on CPR, emergency procedures, first aid not just for adults but for infants and young children as well. This extensive course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to provide first aid + CPR in almost any emergency situations. Our Trainers are professional instructors that are 100% committed to train students in current practices and procedures, knowledge & equipment. You will undertake hands on learning of methods that can save a life of a loved one, colleague or general public in a safe and comfortable environment.
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) procedures are based on the ARC (Australian Resuscitation Council) guidelines.
The course is delivered by a qualified industry skilled trainer at our Western Sydney Skills Hub 410 Church St, Level 3, Suite 34, at North Parramatta
FOR GROUP BOOKINGS CAN BE DELIVERED ON SITE OF YOUR PREFERENCE
This course includes the following units of competency:
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Prerequisites
Whilst there are no prerequisites for this course, it is expected that you have adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills and computer skills to be able to interact with peers, trainers and completing the theory assessment on line via MOODLE. You will also need to be physically fit enough to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on the floor.
Delivery Strategies
The practical component of this course is delivered via face to face in a classroom environment with a qualified and skilled trainer. The theory must be completed on line via MOODLE prior to the practical class. Learning strategies include role play, demonstrations, lectures, and classroom activities etc. The practical class is a 5 hour course.
Assessment Strategies
The assessments involve a variety of activities including knowledge questions, demonstration of performance, and observations. All participants will be supported by our qualified and skilled team throughout their learning journey.
Please arrive 15minutes prior to scheduled class as late arrivals will not be admitted. Cost: Fee for service $175.00 Competency outcome: On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment quoting the relevant units of competences from above.
